Personal Background

She/her (why do pronouns matter?)

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area by hippie parents, I spent my early years immersed in musicals, French, and tap dancing. After two years at community college (where my dad was an instructor), I headed to UC Santa Barbara and lived with international students—an experience that broadened my worldview and set me up for post-grad travels across Europe.

Life took an unexpected turn. Within a single year, I lost my dad to cancer, received a Crohn’s disease diagnosis, and was laid off during the Great Recession—each loss forcing me to confront my own resilience in ways I never had before. Grieving, managing a chronic illness, and facing an uncertain career path all at once was overwhelming, but it also became a turning point. I had to ask myself what kind of life I wanted to build moving forward. In that reflection, I realized that what mattered most to me was connection, understanding, and being of service to others. That clarity led me to pursue a Master’s in Counseling, setting me on the path to the deeply fulfilling work I do today.

A decade as a Professional School Counselor in public education deepened my belief in the power of change through connection. Just before the pandemic, pregnant with my second kiddo, I made the leap to private practice and haven’t looked back.

Now, I live with my husband, two kids, and a very good dog. When I’m not working, I’m baking or squeezing in as much outdoor exercise as possible.
